Impact Report Launch

Can you believe it has already been five years? Looking back at the incredible journey from 2022 to 2026, it’s amazing to see the massive progress made with new programs, classes, and artist collectives. Miriam Spollen and the team have built such a thriving, welcoming community rooted in real inclusion, encouragement, and mutual support.

That celebration day was truly unforgettable. Bringing together the artists, counsellors, Miriam O'Callaghan, CAC staff, and families, it was all about listening to the artists' voices and showcasing their incredible artwork.

"We were enough, but the art world didn't let us be enough. Connections Arts made us who we are."

Attendees shared their thoughts on the event, with David Singleton telling us the day was “really interesting and encouraging” and Pamela McNulty describing “a room filled with magic”. Pamela also highlighted the “subtle support and awareness” that “permitted the artists to relax and speak proudly about the group and their own work”.

This isn't just about giving visual artists with intellectual disabilities and neurodivergent backgrounds a space to create; it’s about breaking down barriers and creating an environment where everyone feels genuinely seen, valued, and respected so their unique voices can shine.
