Pamela Kavanagh is an Artist from Clondalkin who now lives in the Lucan area. She is a self-taught artist who has been painting for years. She paints or draws almost every day. Pamela is part of the Sharing Skills Club in Celbridge Library, which she attends every Monday, and the Get Away Hub in Maynooth on Tuesdays. She is happy to be part of the Connections Art group this year. Animals and Nature inspire Pamela, her most recent Art shows her love of horses. Pamela recently had a successful solo exhibition of her Equestrian Art in Celbridge Library and sold some of her art. Pamela uses a lot of bright colours, she says she wants people to feel happy when they look at her art. She hopes to brighten up people’s days.

Pamela uses a range of materials from acrylic paint, watercolour inks, watercolours and emulsion paint. Most of Pamelas work is on paper, created using a range of different paint brushes, She likes to create a smooth, flat surface. Her artwork usually has different shapes and colours, she likes to create silhouettes by outlining the people and animals in black paint. Pamela likes to draw objects too.

Pamela was delighted to be picked as an artist for this programme and looks forward to showing her artwork and meeting new people. She’s excited to exhibit in The Royal College of Surgeons and have more people see her art. Pamela recently had a solo exhibition of her Equestrian Art in Celbridge Library and sold some pieces of art. Pamela also had an exhibition in Clondalkin Library. Pamela has created art as part of Dublin City Canvas, having painted pieces on electricity boxes around Dublin City. 1, ‘Hope’ 2021 and 2 ‘, Dance Star in 2022. Pamela’s painting of Olympic Gold Medallist Katie Taylor was chosen to be displayed at the Special Olympics 2014 International Art Exhibition, a part of the European Special Olympics Games, which took place in Belgium in September 2014. Pamela would like to learn more about Glass Art and might do a workshop or course next year.
