“Gentle, observant, and insightful, Marta brings a unique perspective and sense of wonder to everything she does. Her openness to new ideas, love of creativity, and imaginative spirit make her a truly inspiring artist.”
— Marta Soltysek, Connecting Artists 2025 Participant
Marta Soltysek is a visual artist based in Ireland. Originally from Poland, she moved to Monaghan at the age of five and finds joy and inspiration in her everyday surroundings. She especially enjoys quiet places, local shops, and creative spaces like libraries and galleries where her curiosity and imagination come alive.
In recent years, Marta has taken part in various art courses that sparked her creativity and connected her with the artistic community. She’s an active member of several art groups and feels happiest when immersed in creative work.
Marta loves experimenting with colour, texture, and subject matter — from playful collages and cartoon characters to imagined streetscapes. In 2024, she won third place in an art competition with a vibrant café scene created entirely from her imagination.
Her work is expressive and inspired by a sense of wonder, often combining everyday observations with whimsical detail. She enjoys using a wide range of materials — pencils, pastels, chalk, paint, and embroidery — and especially loves mixing colours to discover new combinations. Marta creates with whatever she has to hand, bringing each piece to life with imagination and flair.
