Artist Mark Buckley
“As a participant in the Connecting Artists programme, I dream of having my artwork displayed, to share my creations with others and bring them the same enjoyment I experience while creating art.”
My name is Mark Buckley and I am a 23-year-old artist from Coolboc, Riverstown, Co Sligo. I attend the National Learning Network (NLN) in Sligo, where I participate in the Sligo Link Programme, designed for individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In addition to art, I also enjoy music and exercise.
I have developed my own portfolio through art classes during my time at NLN. I love replicating famous artworks, with a particular fondness for drawing cartoon characters. One of my favouites is my copy of Pinocchio. I also love drawing famous musicians and have done lots of drawings of Lionel Richie.
As a participant in the CA2023 program, I dream of having my artwork displayed in local shops, to share my creations with others, and bring them the same enjoyment I experience while creating art. I am supported by my instructors Siobhan and Amber from the National Learning Network in Sligo.
