I am John Heavey, an artist from Rathmines in Dublin. I have enjoyed painting for as long as I can remember. I have won art competitions in the past including two awards from the Texaco Art Competition. 

My mum also loves art so I have visited lots of galleries and exhibitions with my family in Ireland and when I am on holidays.

I go to an adult art class every week and my teacher Declan is really great ! At the moment I am using Pastels and I love to give my finished paintings to close friends and family as a gift. Sometimes they give me commissions !!

I am delighted to be part of the Connecting Artists Group 2025 and I am looking forward to meeting everyone in person at the RCSI exhibition in July.
